چکیده

The objective of the Taguchi parameter design is to improve the performance of a product or a process by determining the levels of its design parameters such that the performance characteristic is robust against various causes of variation. Parameter design problems are broadly classified into static and dynamic ones. Static problems are further classified into the-nominal-thebest, the-larger-the-better and the-smaller-the-better ones, and for each problem type a unique performance measure (or an SN ratio) is appropriately defined. However, for the dynamic parameter design problem, such a classification has not been explicitly made. The only case that has been extensively discussed in the literature is the one where the slope β of the relationship between the performance characteristic and the signal parameter has a finite ideal value. In this article, we consider the cases in which it is desired to have β as large as and as small as possible, and develop a performance measure for each case. In addition, the existing performance measure for the case where β has a finite ideal value is modified according to the framework proposed in this article. The developed parameter design procedures are illustrated with an example.

Performance Evaluation of Dynamic Modulus Predictive Models for Asphalt Mixtures

Dynamic modulus characterizes the viscoelastic behavior of asphalt materials and is the most important input parameter for design and rehabilitation of flexible pavements using Mechanistic–Empirical Pavement Design Guide (MEPDG). Laboratory determination of dynamic modulus is very expensive and time consuming. To overcome this challenge, several predictive models were developed to determine dyn...

A Robust Reliable Forward-reverse Supply Chain Network Design Model under Parameter and Disruption Uncertainties

Social responsibility is a key factor that could result in success and achieving great benefits for supply chains. Responsiveness and reliability are important social responsibility measures for consumers and all stakeholders that strategists and company managers should be concerned about them in long-term planning horizon. Although, presence of uncertainties as an intrinsic part of supply chai...

Taguchi Design optimization using multivariate process capability index

The Taguchi method is a useful technique to improve the performance of products or processes at a lower cost and in less time. This procedure can be categorized in the static and dynamic quality characteristics. The optimization of multiple responses has received increasing attention over the last few years in many manufacturing organizations.  Several approaches dealing with multiple static q...

Dynamic Mediation for Removing Language Comprehension Problems: A Psychological Support for Listening Comprehension Mental Processing

Dynamic Assessment is an approach to assessment within Applied Linguistics which is stemmed from Vygotsky’s Socio-Cultural Theory of mind, his concept of Zone of Proximal Development and Feuerstein's theory of Structural Cognitive Modifiability. This study is an attempt to pinpoint the sources of mental processing problems in listening comprehension and applies dynamic interventions to remove t...

Dynamic Bayesian Information Measures

This paper introduces measures of information for Bayesian analysis when the support of data distribution is truncated progressively. The focus is on the lifetime distributions where the support is truncated at the current age t>=0. Notions of uncertainty and information are presented and operationalized by Shannon entropy, Kullback-Leibler information, and mutual information. Dynamic updatings...
